On Sunday, July 19, Ukraine celebrates the professional holiday of workers in the metallurgical industry, while the world celebrates one of the most beloved gastronomic holidays of summer — Ice Cream Day. According to the new church calendar, Orthodox believers honor the memory of Saint Macrina, and the weather on her day has long been used to predict what autumn will be like, reports UNN.

The main sign: if it rains on Macrina's day, autumn will be wet and inclement, and if it is dry and sunny, autumn will be warm and prolonged.
For those who follow the old (Julian) calendar: on July 19, the memory of Saint Sisois the Great is honored. In folk tradition, this day was called "Sisoy." It was believed that the morning dew on this day had healing power, so peasants tried to walk barefoot on the grass to gain health for the entire year.
