According to the new church calendar, Orthodox believers honor the memory of Saint Macrina, and the weather on her day has long been used to predict what autumn will be like, reports UNN.

Day of Workers of the Metallurgical and Mining Industry (Metallurgist Day)

This important professional holiday is traditionally celebrated in Ukraine on the third Sunday of July. It is dedicated to people of a tough and courageous profession — metallurgists, steelworkers, miners, whose work is one of the key factors for the economy and industry of our country.

The main sign: if it rains on Macrina's day, autumn will be wet and inclement, and if it is dry and sunny, autumn will be warm and prolonged.

For those who follow the old (Julian) calendar: on July 19, the memory of Saint Sisois the Great is honored. In folk tradition, this day was called "Sisoy." It was believed that the morning dew on this day had healing power, so peasants tried to walk barefoot on the grass to gain health for the entire year.
