In the folk calendar, this day was often called "Fostius and Anicetas" or marked the beginning of active preparations for autumn fieldwork.
According to the old calendar: on August 25, the memory of Hieromartyr Alexander, Bishop, as well as the Martyrs Pamphilus and Capiton, is commemorated. Among the people, this day was called "Wounded Photius" or the day when people traditionally put their barns in order and prepared for the arrival of the first autumn birds.
