Ukrainian athlete Viktoriia Us won the silver medal at the first stage of the Canoe Slalom World Cup of the season. She secured the award in the kayak cross discipline at the competition held in Tacen, Slovenia. This was reported by the NOC of Ukraine and the Olympic team, according to UNN.

"Silver. Viktoriia Us is a silver medalist at the Canoe Slalom World Cup stage! The first stage of the Canoe Slalom World Cup of the season took place in Tacen, Slovenia. The main achievement for Ukraine was Viktoriia Us's medal in the dynamic discipline — kayak cross," the post reads.
According to the NOC, the Ukrainian's performance at the tournament began with a tense struggle to reach the final.
"In the semifinals, the fate of the ticket to the decisive race was determined only after a video replay: the judges recorded an error by American Evy Leibfarth, which allowed the Ukrainian to advance," the report notes.
In the final, the Ukrainian paddler stayed among the leaders from the start and confidently covered the distance, finishing second.
"For the 2023 European Games champion and three-time Olympian, this is her milestone 10th medal at World Cup stages and her second in this specific discipline. Furthermore, Tacen is truly a lucky place for our athlete: she has now won her sixth career award here. Congratulations on the success! We are proud," the post says.
