One of the main goals of mine action in the Ministry of Defense is equal access to work in this area, including increasing the involvement of women, veterans, victims of explosive ordnance, and people with disabilities.
This was discussed during the seminar "Equal Opportunities: Engaging People with Disabilities in Mine Action" held in Kyiv with financial support from the Swedish government.
Today, much attention is paid to the implementation of policies that ensure equal access to work in the field of mine action, the creation of specialized training programs that include both technical and non-technical skills necessary to work in this field and the creation of conditions that ensure comfortable and safe employment
A program for the employment of people with disabilities, including war veterans, is being implemented in Ukraine by the United Nations.

As part of this project, the first four Ukrainians affected by explosive ordnance have been hired by The HALO Trust, an international organization. They will analyze satellite and UAV imagery to identify and map mine-contaminated areas. The Ukrainians received the job offer a month after completing a course on the employment of people with disabilities in mine action,
It is noted that the participants of the seminar were also introduced to approaches to employment and organization of jobs for persons with disabilities in mine action, and practical exercises were held.
