In a social media post, Machado stated that she "will be in Venezuela to help coordinate and encourage citizens' efforts during the emergency."
At the same time, she did not disclose details of her return plan, but claimed that the Venezuelan government is allegedly obstructing her attempts to arrive in the country.
Machado left Venezuela at the end of last year
After Venezuelan authorities declared victory in the disputed 2024 presidential elections, María Corina Machado remained in hiding in the country for a long time.
According to Sky News, in December she secretly left Venezuela by boat to travel to Oslo, where she received the Nobel Peace Prize. She later presented this award to U.S. President Donald Trump.
