An American police officer has been charged with the shooting and killing of a pregnant woman in Columbus, Ohio. The woman named Takia Young was 21 years old and 25 weeks pregnant. She was shot dead in August last year, the BBC writes, reports UNN.

The officer's body camera video shows that Yang tried to flee the scene as police were about to question her. She was suspected of shoplifting from a grocery store. The officer stood in front of the hood of the car and shot Yang as she drove toward him.
The prosecutor's office has now charged the police officer and believes they have enough evidence to convict him of murder. He denies his guilt.
