At the conference "Restoring Justice for Ukraine" in The Hague, the Register of Damages, the first element of the compensation mechanism for war victims, was technically launched. The Hague Conference also adopted a political declaration supported by 44 countries. The Prosecutor General noted that this demonstrates the support of the civilized world for Ukraine's desire to bring to justice those involved in Russian aggression.
"We already have 104 verdicts in Ukrainian courts and four arrest warrants from the International Criminal Court. The United States and Lithuania have notified seven people of suspicion as part of their own war crimes investigations," the Prosecutor General emphasized.
Andriy Kostin reminded that the Office of the Prosecutor General is also considering the participation of more than 600 Russian high-ranking political and military officials in the crime of aggression. However, an international tribunal is needed to bring the Russian president to justice.
