Ukrainian manufacturers have created a drone with the characteristics of the Chinese Mavic, 6 teams have completed flight missions, demonstrating their developments to the military command, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Herman Smetanin said on Telegram on Monday, UNN reports.
"Ukrainian manufacturers have made a drone with the tactical and technical characteristics of the Chinese Mavic. The video shows the first demonstration flights of these products," Smetanin said.
According to him, the weekend brought together 8 manufacturers of such drones at different stages of readiness, and two of them have already been codified. "6 teams completed flight missions: a 10 km flight at an altitude of over 250 meters and a target search. It was a demonstration for the General Staff, the Unmanned Systems Forces Command, the Logistics Forces Command, government procurement and military units," the minister said.
According to Smetanin, the military assessed the quality of the products and talked directly to the manufacturers about the characteristics, features and production capabilities.
"First of all, I would like to thank the Ukrainian production teams who were able to create such a product in Ukraine. It is inexpensive, functional, and easy to operate. And most importantly, it is created within the country, which, firstly, makes us more independent of foreign supplies, and secondly, keeps money in the country. Our manufacturers strive to produce exactly what the Defense Forces really need. More will follow," said the head of the Ministry of Strategic Industries.
