The Embassy of Ukraine in Mexico has called on the Mexican government to arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin if he comes to the inauguration of President Claudia Sheinbaum. UNN reports this with reference to the embassy's statement.
As noted, the Embassy of Ukraine in Mexico recognizes the fact that the Mexican government invites representatives of all countries to attend the inauguration of the new president. They also thanked the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the invitation.
However, they pointed out that the Mexican government would in any case have to execute an international arrest warrant for Putin if he came to the country.
We hope that the Mexican government is aware of the fact that Vladimir Putin is a war criminal who has an arrest warrant for suspicion of abducting and forcibly transferring Ukrainian children to Russia issued by the International Criminal Court, whose jurisdiction Mexico recognizes.
This shameful crime will be one of the many reasons why Putin, along with the rest of Russia's military and political leadership, will one day have to stand trial for launching a full-scale invasion of Ukraine...
They also indicated that they believe that "the Mexican government will in any case execute the international arrest warrant by submitting it to the UN judicial body in The Hague."
