Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Ankara expects to receive NATO accreditation for the future center of unmanned systems and counter-drone means. He announced this at a meeting of the North Atlantic Council within the framework of the NATO summit in Turkish Ankara on Wednesday, reports a correspondent of UNN.
According to the Turkish president, the country has significant combat experience in using drones.
As an ally that successfully uses drones and strike UAVs in real combat conditions, we hope that the center of unmanned systems and means of combating them, which we plan to establish, will be accredited by NATO. I am convinced that this center will strengthen the Alliance's capabilities to counter aerial and unmanned threats
He also noted that Turkey is implementing the "Steel Dome" project, within the framework of which an additional $24 billion has already been allocated for the development of air and missile defense systems.
