A resident of the Chernivtsi district tied her 10-year-old son's leg with a chain and kept him in the yard. Police documented the criminal actions of the Bukovyna woman. The child was removed from the family and handed over to medical workers, UNN reports with reference to the Main Department of the National Police in the Chernivtsi region.

The police were approached by the starosta of the Starosta district, who, passing by the yard of a 34-year-old resident of the Mamayivska territorial community, noticed a boy tied with a chain.
Law enforcement officers and employees of the children's service went to the address.
The 10-year-old boy was removed from his family and is currently in a children's hospital.
According to law enforcement officers, the woman is raising four more sons aged 3, 4, 6 and 7 on her own, and also has a 14-year-old daughter who lives with her grandmother. Until experts make a decision, they are under the supervision of their grandparents, who live separately.
The mother explained her criminal actions as a method of upbringing so that her young son would not be naughty and run away from home.
Investigators of the Police Department #2 (Kitsman) of the Chernivtsi District Police Department, under the procedural supervision of the Chernivtsi District Prosecutor's Office, opened a criminal proceeding under Article 127 (Torture) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
This crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of three to six years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
