The Spanish national soccer team, which won the European title for the fourth time the day before, returned home.
The first to receive them was King Felipe VI, who was presented with a T-shirt with the players' autographs and the inscription "Kings of Europe". The monarch thanked them for the "joy" they brought to the country.
They were then welcomed by Government President Pedro Sánchez, who congratulated them for showing "the best version of Spain" throughout the competition and for demonstrating "team spirit and sacrifice.
The Euro 2024 winners rode in an open bus through the streets of Madrid, where tens of thousands of people gathered. They then took part in a concert dedicated to the victory.
