Due to the effects of enemy shelling on the energy infrastructure, 500,000 customers in Kharkiv and the surrounding areas are currently without power. In total, the situation is difficult for 17 settlements in the region. Due to a power grid shortage the day before, some homes were without electricity for six hours. This was announced on Friday during a telethon by RMA Chairman Oleh Syniehubov, UNN reports .
Our energy supply situation has deteriorated. The city of Kharkiv is currently experiencing a 300 to 200 MW electricity deficit. We are currently reviewing the relevant blackout schedules. Yesterday we had homes that actually had 6 hours of electricity per day
According to him, all the necessary work is underway to stabilize the situation with electricity supply.
Critical infrastructure is fully powered. Hospitals are able to operate autonomously. Private enterprises, like household consumers, receive electricity on an hourly basis.
"About 17 settlements are experiencing power shortages. Our internal networks are too overloaded and the problem with power generating enterprises in the region is still quite difficult," said Syniehubov.
He also pointed out that the debris removal at the damaged power generating facilities and the analysis of the technical condition of the equipment are ongoing. After that, the timeframe for restoring the power units will be known.
Yesterday in Ukraine, due to network restrictions on Ukrenergo's lines, emergency power outage schedules were applied for several hours in Dnipropetrovs'k, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Poltava and Sumy regions. Grid restrictions are also possible this day.
