The National Bank of Ukraine will verify information regarding possible interference with the operation of Sense Bank’s automated system. This was reported by the NBU press service, according to UNN.
Details
As noted by the NBU, in response to a question from the Head of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, the regulator could not interfere with the bank’s automated system or authorize an illegal transaction.
The National Bank establishes regulatory requirements for banks’ automated systems, which must ensure the timely detection of transactions subject to financial monitoring, including suspicious transactions
They also added that the National Bank of Ukraine "does not have access to banks’ automated systems, does not in any way influence their operation, and does not determine whether they can or cannot be disconnected".
The NBU also does not analyze financial transactions at the stage of their initiation by a client and does not authorize or prohibit their execution. Monitoring clients’ transactions, analyzing them, detecting and stopping suspicious transactions are the responsibility of banks
