The Kremlin is not abandoning its idea to create a "sanitary zone" in Ukraine, even if Kyiv receives new long-range missiles. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov in a commentary to the Russian media, UNN reports .

Details

During the briefing, journalists noted that Ukraine could receive missiles with a range of about 300 kilometers. Peskov was also reminded of the Kremlin's constant statements that the "sanitary zone" in Ukraine will increase in accordance with the long-range weapons that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have.

The Kremlin spokesman assured that Moscow has not changed its position in this regard and that the "sanitary zone" will definitely be expanded to accommodate Ukraine's new weapons.

Yes, nothing changes in this regard (expansion of the sanitary zone - ed.)

- Psekov said.

At the same time, he did not comment on Russia's ability to counteract the new long-range weapons of the Ukrainian armed forces. According to him, the issue of missile defense is within the competence of the Russian Defense Ministry.
