The government is preparing a Strategy for the Restoration of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises until 2027, and has already held consultations with business and experts and taken into account the "lion's share" of entrepreneurs' proposals. The next step is to go through the approval procedure with the relevant ministries and then prepare a package for the government's consideration, the Ministry of Economy said on Thursday, UNN reports.

About forty representatives of business, civil society organizations and think tanks were involved in the discussion.
As indicated, the current version of the Strategy contains sections analyzing the current state of small and medium-sized enterprises, strategic goals and priority tasks for their achievement, and expected results. The Strategy is also adapted to the principles of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the European Union.
In finalizing the strategy, we have already taken into account the lion's share of business proposals. The next step is to go through the approval procedure with the relevant ministries and prepare a package for the government's consideration
The goal of the Strategy, as stated, is to address the pressing problems of small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine. In particular, access to finance, logistical disruptions, reduced purchasing power, and a lack of qualified personnel.
The long-term goal of the Strategy is to grow and digitally transform SMEs, integrate SMEs into the European market, and increase their competitiveness and innovation potential in line with EU standards.
In addition, the adoption of the document is reportedly one of the requirements of the European Commission (the European Commission Report on Ukraine in the framework of EU enlargement).
"Recently, the OECD noted in a study that Ukraine has become a leader in the category of entrepreneurship development among the Eastern Partnership countries. Despite the challenges, we have improved our performance in 12 assessment dimensions. I am convinced that the Strategy will help our country continue to move up in the entrepreneurship rankings and demonstrate to European partners our readiness to develop," said Valeria Ionan, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine for European Integration .
