The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the transfer of Mezhyhirya to the management of a state institution. The official opening of the Park-Monument of Landscape Art is scheduled for May 2024, and the government promises that all funds from Mezhyhiria will be directed to the state budget and the Armed Forces. This is reported by UNN with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
"Mezhyhiria will start operating in May - for the first time in a decade, all profits will go to the state budget, the statement said.

In 2023, a law was approved to return Mezhyhiria to state ownership: a new object of the nature reserve fund was created . Recently, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a decision to transfer assets seized in criminal proceedings to the management of the state institution Park - Monument of Landscape Gardening Art of National Importance Mezhyhiria. Next, the land plots managed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and movable property from the National Agency for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets were transferred to the Park-Monument. This includes paintings, cars, furniture, appliances, equipment, etc.
This has finally opened up opportunities for 100% return of Mezhyhirya to state ownership," the Ministry of Environment states.
According to the agency, a special administration of Mezhyhirya has already been established to handle all the necessary documents. After the official opening of the park, all proceeds from Mezhyhirya's operations will go to the state budget and to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Mezhyhiria National Park is building its work from scratch. From the registration of land plots, which are defined by the Law of Ukraine, accounting of plants, animals, equipment in the park, to the development of new opportunities for mass outdoor recreation. In May, Mezhyhiria will open its first official tourist season for all visitors," the park's special administration informs.
