Switzerland has frozen $8.2 billion of Russian assets under sanctions, which is only 5% of total Russian assets in the country. This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in an interview with SWI swissinfo.ch, UNN reports.
So far, Switzerland has frozen CHF 7.5 billion (USD 8.2 billion) worth of assets of sanctioned Russian individuals, which is only 5% of the total amount of Russian assets in the country, estimated at CHF 150 billion. We believe that Switzerland has the opportunity to do more. Such actions would send a message that aggression is unacceptable and that everyone must abide by the rules. This will be a powerful deterrent to any country that is tempted to launch armed aggression
He also said that, according to the Ukrainian side, Switzerland has blocked about $15 billion (13.6 billion Swiss francs) of Russian assets, both private and sovereign.
