The State Emergency Service of Ukraine urged citizens to refrain from lighting fires and to strictly adhere to fire safety rules amid the extreme fire danger level forecast in most regions of the country. This was reported by the SES, as UNN reports.
Details
The agency emphasized that due to hot and dry weather, the risk of large-scale fires in ecosystems significantly increases. Rescuers urge Ukrainians to be especially careful while resting in nature and to avoid actions that could lead to ignition.
In particular, the SES recommends not lighting fires in unauthorized places, not leaving fire unattended, and before leaving a resting place, be sure to completely extinguish it with water or cover it with earth. Citizens are also urged not to throw cigarette butts or matches on the ground, especially in dry weather, and not to burn dry vegetation.
The service reminded that burning dry vegetation entails administrative liability under the law. For citizens, fines range from 3,060 to 6,120 hryvnias, for officials - up to 30,600 hryvnias. If the violation occurs in areas of the nature reserve fund, the fine can reach 12,240 hryvnias.
The SES also urged citizens to immediately call 101 if they detect a fire or smoke.
