In its daily report, the Russian Federation claims to have "repelled" seven attacks near the settlements of Martynivka, Birky and Korenevo in Kursk region and "attempted to break through" in the area of Kauchuk.
As well as about the shelling in the areas of Kurylivka, Plekhovo, Lyubymivka, Suzha, Kosytsia, Hoholivka, Cossack Loknya, Mykhailivka and Sverdlyakivka.
Meanwhile, according to The Moscow Times, in the State Duma, Lieutenant General Andrey Guruliev, a member of the Defense Committee, accused the Russian military of failing to defend the Kursk region, saying that the Russian military had not prepared in advance and had not built the defense properly.

Fighting has been reported in the Kursk region of Russia since August 6, following reports of a "breakthrough" of the border and the "entry" of Ukrainian forces. A federal emergency was declared in the region. Also in the Kursk region, as well as in the Belgorod and Bryansk regions, a counterterrorism operation was introduced.
