The government has developed and partially launched four support programs to encourage energy sustainability for citizens and businesses, including interest-free loans for the installation of solar/wind installations. There are also preferential loans for gas generation systems, loans for condominiums for the installation of solar stations and heat pumps with a 70% reimbursement.

The government has already developed and partially implemented a number of measures aimed at increasing the country's energy sustainability, which should stimulate both citizens and businesses. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at a government meeting, UNN reports.

The government has developed and partially launched a set of measures to encourage citizens and businesses to become more energy resilient

- The Prime Minister added.

He described four government support programs:

The first one provides citizens with interest-free loans of up to UAH 480 thousand for a period of 10 years for the installation of solar and wind installations and energy storage systems.

The second program provides small and medium-sized businesses with preferential loans of up to UAH 150 million for the same period at an interest rate of 5 to 9% per annum for the installation of gas-fired power generation systems.

The third program is loans for condominiums and housing cooperatives in the amount of up to UAH 5 million. These funds will be used by homeowners to install solar stations and heat pumps. And then the state will reimburse them 70% of the project costs under the Grindim program.

The fourth program is loans for large businesses for 5-7 years at 14-16% per annum, secured by equipment. Together with the NBU, we have worked with the banking sector, which is ready to provide such loans.

In the territories bordering the combat zone, the interest rate is reduced to 1-5% for the first two years, and loans for investment purposes can be taken at 5% per annum starting next year

- Shmyhal says.

According to him, draft laws have been submitted to the Parliament to abolish customs duties and VAT on the import of energy equipment. We expect the Verkhovna Rada to promptly adopt these bills.

We expect that no later than July 25, all these mechanisms will be fully operational

- the Prime Minister added.
