The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved a pilot project to strengthen the security of the educational environment in schools. It provides for the provision of educational institutions identified for participation in the pilot project, in particular, physical security and the establishment of an access regime to the territory of the institutions. This was announced by the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk on Telegram, UNN reports.
Melnychuk said that the proposal of the Ministry of Education and Science to implement a pilot project during martial law, but not longer than two years, to strengthen the security of the educational environment in general secondary education institutions under the legal regime of martial law was approved. The procedure for implementing the pilot project was approved.
He also said that the coordinator of the pilot project is the Ministry of Education and Science, and the participants are the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Emergency Service, the National Police, regional and Kyiv city military administrations, local governments and general secondary education institutions with more than 200 students and organized educational process in full-time and/or mixed (by combining full-time and distance learning) forms.
"It is envisaged to provide educational institutions identified for participation in the pilot project with physical security, lighting, establishing an access regime to the territory of educational institutions in order to prevent unauthorized persons from entering its territory (premises) or bringing in dangerous substances, prohibited items, etc.", Melnychuk wrote.

In the summer, it was reported that inspectors of the educational security service would be working in general secondary education institutions of Ukraine during the educational process. They will be responsible for the safety of children, controlling access control, patrolling the territory, and conducting interactive legal awareness classes.
