Ryanair has announced a change in its check-in and baggage drop-off rules at airports across its network; the new rules will come into effect on November 10, 2026. This was announced in an official statement, writes UNN.
Details
According to the carrier, airport check-in and baggage drop-off will now close 60 minutes before the scheduled departure, whereas previously this period was 40 minutes.
It is noted that the change is intended to give passengers more time to pass through security and passport control, especially during peak hours.
The company stated that the new rules primarily concern approximately 20% of passengers who check in luggage. For the remaining 80% who travel with only hand luggage, nothing will change: they will continue to check in online before arriving at the airport and proceed directly to the security area and boarding gate.
In addition, the airline is actively implementing self-service kiosks for baggage drop-off.
It is expected that by October, they will be operational in more than 95% of the network's airports. Such kiosks are integrated with the carrier's mobile application and allow passengers to independently process their luggage and print tags, which should reduce queues and speed up service.
