Russian authorities have banned the sale and suspended the import of "Jermuk" mineral water from Armenia. The decision was made following statements by Rospotrebnadzor regarding alleged violations of product safety standards. This was reported by the Moscow Times, according to the editorial staff of UNN.

According to the publication, Russia claimed that the water exceeded the content of bicarbonate ions, chlorides, and sulfates. Approximately 338,000 bottles were withdrawn from sale.
Officially, the Russian side explained the ban as a "necessity for urgent measures to prevent possible harm to the life and health of citizens of the Russian Federation."
The Moscow Times notes that the complaints against Armenian products appeared after a meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin.
During the conversation, Pashinyan emphasized that Armenia is a democratic state.
"In our country, social networks, for example, are 100% free. There are no restrictions,"
He also confirmed Yerevan's course toward rapprochement with the European Union and recalled the freezing of the country's participation in the CSTO following the organization's inaction during the war in Nagorno-Karabakh.
