The Russian Federal Security Service announced the detention of a suspect in the organization of an explosion in Moscow that killed Russian Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, a 29-year-old Uzbek citizen, Russian media reported, UNN reported.
"Investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the Russian Federation, in cooperation with the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, detained a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan born in 1995, suspected of committing a terrorist attack that killed the chief of the radiation, chemical and biological defense troops of the Russian Federation's armed forces, Igor Kirillov, and his assistant, Ilya Polikarpov," the FSB said in a statement.
It is noted that the detainee was taken to the investigator, and investigative actions are being carried out with him. During the interrogation, he explained that he was allegedly recruited by the Ukrainian special services. On their instructions, he arrived in Moscow and received an improvised explosive device. He placed it on an electric scooter, which he parked at the entrance of the apartment building where Igor Kirilov lived. In order to monitor the general's residence, he rented a car and installed a video surveillance camera.
The footage from this camera was allegedly broadcast online to the city of Dnipro. It is reported that after receiving a video signal of the soldiers leaving the entrance, the explosive device was remotely detonated by them.
For this, according to the FSB, he was allegedly promised a monetary reward of $100,000 and a trip to one of the European countries to live."
