Confirmation of granting Assad asylum in Russia was announced today by Putin's press secretary Peskov. The relevant information is transmitted to rossmi, reports UNN.

Vladimir Putin has granted asylum to Bashar al-Assad and his family, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has confirmed.

"Of course, such decisions cannot be made without the head of state. This is his decision," Peskov told reporters of Russian publications.

The Russian authorities have already declared Assad a former President. It is indicated that Assad "agreed with the opposition on the transfer of power." Bashar al-Assad himself has not yet provided an explanation - the former Syrian President does not appear in public.

Earlier, UNN reported that after a rapid advance in Damascus, the rebels entered the presidential palace. Syrian Prime Minister Muhammad Ghazi Al-Jalali has announced his readiness to hand over power. In a video message, he said that he is ready to hand over the reins of power "to any leadership that determines the Syrian people.

The Syrian embassy in Moscow raised the flag of the opposition after the change of power in the country. Bashar al-Assad, who led the country for 24 years, was granted asylum in Russia after the capture of Damascus by rebels.

The loss of Russian bases in Syria is likely to disrupt Russian logistics. If the Kremlin agrees to maintain some bases in Syria, then the further deployment of the Russian armed forces in the country will depend on Syrian opposition groups - this may also weaken the influence of Russia's external presence in the Middle East and Africa.

In the garage of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, he was captured by opposition forces. The network got video footage where you can see Ferrari, Audi, Mercedes and many other cars of luxury brands.
