On Saturday, December 28, a pro-Russian hacker group attacked about ten official websites in Italy, including those of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and two Milan airports, temporarily disabling them. This was reported by Reuters with reference to the country's cybersecurity agency, UNN reports .

A representative of Italy's cybersecurity agency said that during such attacks, hackers tried to flood the network with an unusually large amount of data traffic to paralyze it.
According to him, the agency provided prompt assistance to the institutions and firms that were targeted, and that the consequences of the attack were “mitigated” in less than two hours.
The cyberattack did not cause any disruptions at Milan's Linate and Malpensa airports, according to a representative of SEA, the company that operates them.
It is noted that the airports' websites were unavailable, but the airports' mobile applications continued to work.
The pro-Russian hacker group Noname 057 (16) claimed responsibility for the attack, saying that “Italy's Russophobes have received a well-deserved cyber response.
