Investigators in the plane crash case, in which all 62 people on board died last week in Brazil, have received a full decryption of the "black box", but its contents do not immediately explain the cause of the accident, according to local media reports Reuters, writes UNN.

Details

The decryption from the cockpit voice recorder shows that the pilot and co-pilot noticed a sharp loss of altitude about one minute before the accident, reported the local TV channel TV Globo in its main news program Jornal Nacional on Wednesday evening, citing unnamed people working on the investigation.

TV Globo did not publish either audio or transcript.

According to TV Globo, the decryption covers about two hours of audio recording, including the co-pilot's questions to the pilot about what is happening, and a report that the plane needs "more power" to stabilize.

The plane, a turboprop ATR-72 of the local airline Voepass, was heading to São Paulo from Cascavel in the southern state of Paraná and crashed around 1:30 pm (4:30 pm GMT) in the city of Vinhedo, about 80 km northwest of São Paulo.

As a result of the plane crash, all those on board were killed, but no one on the ground was injured.

The pilots did not report any emergency or adverse weather conditions, the Brazilian Air Force said on Friday.

TV Globo reported that, according to people investigating the accident, the analysis of the audio alone will not currently allow the cause of the crash to be determined.

The channel also stated that the authorities did not detect any characteristic sounds, such as sounds of fire, electrical equipment failure or engine failure, although the sound was reportedly difficult to listen to.

TV Globo stated that the potential problem of wing icing on the aircraft was neither ruled out nor confirmed by the authorities.

Video recordings of the accident, analyzed by aviation experts, have led some to suggest that ice had formed on the aircraft.

The Brazilian Center for Investigation of Aviation Accidents Cenipa could not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment on the TV Globo report outside of normal business hours.
