A particularly high number of reports came from Zelenograd in the Moscow region.
According to eyewitnesses, a series of powerful explosions was heard in Zelenograd.
On social media, residents of the Moscow region also posted videos showing flashes in the sky and the sounds of air defense systems operating.
There is currently no official information regarding possible damage or casualties.
Throughout the night, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin repeatedly and traditionally reported the alleged downing of drones on their approach to the Russian capital.
Explosions were reported in Khimki, Lobnya, and Naro-Fominsk in the Moscow region.
