A high-voltage overhead line connecting the power systems of Ukraine and Moldova was disconnected due to technological violations, the Energy Ministry said on Thursday, UNN reports .
"Yesterday, a high-voltage overhead line connecting the power systems of Ukraine and Moldova was briefly disconnected due to technological disruptions. The cause of the violation is being investigated," the Ministry of Energy said in a statement.
In addition, in the western and central regions, high-voltage overhead lines were reportedly briefly disconnected due to technological disruptions. The causes of the disruptions are being investigated.
A high-voltage overhead line was disconnected in Dnipropetrovs'k region, causing a power outage at a power facility. The cause of the outage is being investigated.
Also in Poltava region, an overhead line was disconnected to safely extinguish the fire near the equipment. The fire was extinguished, and the line was restored to service.
According to the Ministry of Energy, 3,722 consumers in 32 settlements in Sumy region were cut off from electricity as a result of the bad weather. Due to the hostilities and technical violations, 510 settlements were cut off from electricity. Power companies have supplied electricity to 14,739 customers who were cut off as a result of hostilities and bad weather.
