A Mexican woman has died after being bitten severely in the leg by a shark in the Pacific Ocean off the beach in the city of Melake, authorities said on on Sunday. This is reported by AR, according to UNN.

Rafael Araiza, head of the local civil defense office, said, said the attack took place on Saturday near a beach in Melaca, west of the the seaport of Manzanillo.
The city is located in the western state of Jalisco, next to the more more famous beach town of Barra de Navidad.
Ariaza said the 26-year-old woman was swimming with her five-year-old daughter to a floating playground platform about 25 meters from the the shore.
The victim tried to lift the child aboard the floating platform, when she was bitten by a shark. The daughter was not injured.
Ariaza said that despite the quick response of the rescuers, the woman died of blood loss from a massive bite on her leg near the thigh. She was a resident of a neighboring town.
The authorities closed the beaches in Melaka and Barra de Navidad for swimming as a precautionary measure.
