The SBU neutralized the FSB agent network that fired Russian missiles at a high-rise building in Zaporizhzhia on October 18, UNN reports citing the SBU press service.
The SBU neutralized the FSB agent network that was adjusting the occupiers' air strikes on the military and civilian infrastructure of Zaporizzhia. As a result of a special operation in the regional center, a resident (leader) of the enemy group was detained, who on October 18 this year "guided" Russian missiles at an apartment building in the city center
Details
According to the investigation, the head of the intelligence network was a local resident, a representative of the Zaporizhzhia "military reenactment club" that brings together fans of reenacting historical events, including military battles.
In mid-October 2023, he was remotely recruited by the FSB. For covert communication with the Russian secret service, her accomplice chose the operational pseudonym "Palestinian" and created an anonymous chat room in a popular messenger.
To ensure the fulfillment of the enemy's tasks, he formed his own group of informants, which included 4 local residents, including his relatives.
According to the investigation, they reconnoitered the locations of the Defense Forces in Zaporizhzhia, as well as transmitted the geolocation of residential infrastructure and industrial facilities. To gather intelligence, the informants walked around the area or visited the facilities and took photos and videos of them on their phones.
They passed the information they received to the "Palestinian," who then sent it to the FSB through a "liaison" in one of the temporarily occupied cities in Zaporizhzhia.
Addendum
Currently, SBU investigators have served Palestinian a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law) and a custodial measure of restraint has been imposed.
He faces life imprisonment.
