Kyiv customs officers seized three archaeological flint cores dating back to the 6th millennium BC from a parcel sent from Kryvyi Rih to the United States.

During the customs inspection of an international shipment from Kryvyi Rih to the United States, flint stone cores were found. The artifacts date back to the 6th millennium B.C. This was reported by the State Customs Service, UNN writes.

During the customs inspection of an international parcel that was being sent from Kryvyi Rih to the United States, nuclei of flint were found. Due to the signs of antiquity of these stones, customs officers sent the findings for examination to the National Museum of History of Ukraine, where experts confirmed that they were real nuclei.

Nuclei are stone cores made of flint, obsidian, jasper, etc. In ancient times, sharp plates were chipped from them, which were then used as stone tools, such as knives.

These artifacts come from the northwestern and western parts of Ukraine. The largest of them is 15 cm long. They belong to the materials of archaeological cultures of the Neolithic and Bronze Age, dating from approximately between the 6th and 2nd millennia BC, and have significant cultural and historical value.

Kyiv Customs drew up a report on violation of customs rules under Article 473 of the Customs Code of Ukraine against a person who tried to send cultural property abroad. The nuclei were confiscated.
