The Kremlin has started involving businesses in recruiting for the Russian Armed Forces. Now companies are obliged to find people to sign contracts under threat of fines. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation, writes UNN.
Against the backdrop of huge losses, the Russian authorities are looking for new ways to recruit people to participate in the war against Ukraine. Businesses are being forcibly involved in recruitment.
In particular, information has emerged that in the Ryazan region, enterprises are being given quotas for "volunteers" for the army: companies are obliged to find people to sign contracts under threat of fines of up to one million rubles or the arrest of management. In addition, regional authorities use administrative pressure to ensure businesses meet their "quotas."
In parallel, recruitment through the educational sphere is expanding. As early as the beginning of 2026, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation effectively set quotas for Russian universities — at least 2% of students must sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense.
Also, recruitment into the army is actively carried out in universities in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
To compensate for growing losses and a decrease in those willing to participate in the war, the Russian authorities are constantly trying to expand the base for replenishing the army. This once again indicates the Kremlin's unwillingness to end the war.
