The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claims that in early March it eliminated the deputy commander of the military wing of the Hamas movement, Marwan Issa, the Times of Israel reports, UNN reports.

IDF spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari officially confirmed at a press conference that Marwan Issa, deputy commander of Hamas' military wing, was killed in an Israeli air strike in the central Gaza Strip earlier this month
According to Hagari, along with Issa, a senior Hamas commander Ghazi Abu Tamaa was killed in a strike on March 10 in Nusairat.
In turn, a senior Hamas official, Osama Hamdan, told Al Jazeera that the movement could neither confirm nor deny the information about Issa's death, as it had no evidence.
