On Friday, July 12, Irpin, Kyiv region , introduced temporary water supply restriction schedules due to long-term power outages and excessive watering. This was stated by Irpin Mayor Oleksandr Markushyn, UNN reports.
Details
Due to long-term power outages and excessive watering, we have a critical drop in pressure in the water supply network. To stabilize the situation, we are introducing temporary water supply restriction schedules
According to him, the schedule for July 12 is as follows:
- from 17:00 to 22:00 - the water will have sufficient pressure;
- from 22:00 - water will be supplied at a reduced pressure (on the upper floors, it may be completely absent) in order to fill the tanks for the next day.
Markushyn said that Irpinvodokanal has hundreds of facilities on its balance sheet. The critical infrastructure of the water utility, which is responsible for supplying water to the city's water supply network, has powerful generators and operates smoothly.
However, providing generators for all the disconnected wells (there are 60 of them), and most importantly, controlling their operation, is a task that is almost impossible for our resources
He noted that this is currently an urgent issue in many communities in Ukraine due to the heat wave, which is why the capital has halved the water supply to Irpin.
Our utilities have been in emergency mode all week. We are reconnecting the power supply, combining the power supply to several wells at the same time. However, to fully restore pressure, we need all wells to work simultaneously and additional funds for fuel for generators - these funds are expected to be allocated at the next session
Recall
On Saturday, July 13, stabilization blackouts will take place throughout the day in all regions of Ukraine, with larger outages during peak hours. During this period, due to high electricity consumption, several customer queues will be disconnected simultaneously.
