Maritime trade between Iran and Qatar has resumed after approximately five months of suspension. Iran's trade attaché in Doha, Abbas Abdolkhani, reported this to Iranian state media, according to Reuters, writes UNN.

According to him, shipping has resumed between the Iranian port of Dayyer and the Qatari port of Al Ruwais. The restoration of the route became possible after coordination between the Iranian embassy in Doha and the Qatari authorities.
Both ports primarily serve regional trade. The port of Dayyer was hit several times during the war.
The resumption of transportation occurred after a temporary agreement between Tehran and Washington, signed last month. The document announced the end of hostilities after a four-month conflict and provided for the return of maritime traffic in the Persian Gulf to pre-war levels.
At the same time, the issue of transit to and from the Gulf remains contentious. Despite this, recent reports indicate a gradual restoration of trade ties between the two shores of the Persian Gulf.
At the end of June, a representative of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran told state media that Iranian goods had finally begun to clear customs at the port of Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates. This is the largest port in the region and one of the key logistics hubs for trade in the Gulf.
The restoration of the route between Dayyer and Al Ruwais could be another signal that trade activity in the region is gradually returning after months of wartime tension.
