The agency emphasized that this process is an integral part of the development of the energy sector in the process of its restoration and reconstruction
The participants discussed the importance of involving business in the processes of restoring and strengthening the energy sector, building energy infrastructure, and implementing new strategies and objectives based on European and global practices.
It is noted that renewable energy sources are one of the key areas of energy sector development defined by the Energy Strategy of Ukraine and actively worked on by the Ministry of Energy.
In particular, in the summer of 2023, a draft law on "green" transformation and development of renewable energy capacities was adopted. The law provides for a new approach to supporting renewable energy, focusing on market mechanisms and attracting investment in the industry.
Over the past month, key acts on the allocation of quotas for the installation of renewable energy capacities through an auction mechanism and the Procedure for Issuing, Circulating and Repaying Guarantees of Origin of Electricity Generated from Renewable Energy Sources were also developed.
The Ministry of Energy said that it is currently working with partners to develop a register of guarantees of origin and harmonize them with European rules. This is important to attract more investors to the renewable energy sector.
Despite the difficult wartime circumstances, over 600 MW of new renewable energy capacity has been commissioned in Ukraine over the past two years. Both Ukrainian companies and international partners are investing in the sector
