On the night of July 2, in addition to the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in Kstovo, Ukrainian military also struck the Starolikeyevo linear production and dispatch station (LPDS), through which fuel is transported to central regions of Russia. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, writes UNN.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the strike on the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in Kstovo, a railway bridge, and other enemy targets on the night of July 2. Also under attack was a railway bridge over the Siverskyi Donets River near Stanytsia Luhanska, an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle warehouse near Kamianka, Zaporizhzhia region, and an enemy command observation post near Vilshana, Kharkiv region. During the attack on the refinery, long-range strike weapons produced by the Ukrainian company Fire Point were used.
"Carrying out the tasks set by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy within the framework of a 40-day operation to influence the Russian Federation, the SBU, together with the Special Operations Forces, the Unmanned Systems Forces, and the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, successfully struck the Nizhny Novgorod oil refinery and the Starolikeyevo linear production and dispatch station (LPDS) in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation. The distance to the target was 850 kilometers," the SBU statement said.
The agency noted that enemy air defense was actively operating in the Kstovo area at night, after which a series of explosions occurred near the Nizhny Novgorod refinery and the Starolikeyevo LPDS. According to the SBU, at least two fire sources were recorded in the industrial zone of these facilities.
The agency recalled that the Nizhny Novgorod refinery is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in Russia. It produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and other petroleum products, a significant portion of which is used to supply the Russian army.
And the Starolikeyevo linear production and dispatch station is an important hub of the main petroleum product pipeline system, through which fuel is transported to central regions of Russia.
"Every struck oil refinery, oil depot, or oil pumping station weakens the enemy's fuel supply and directly reduces its ability to wage war. Unlike Russia, which strikes residential buildings and kills peaceful Ukrainians, the SBU delivers strikes exclusively on targets and facilities that work for the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation," the statement said.
