On June 28, the fifth egg in the nest of storks Odarka and Hrytsyk exploded, from which a chick never hatched. The cause was the heat; the egg overheated in the sun.

On June 28 at 16:04, in the nest of storks Odarka and Hrytsyk, the story of the fifth egg, from which no chick ever hatched, came to an end. Instead, it exploded due to the heat. Researcher Iryna Sarazhynska reported this, writes UNN.

Details

According to the researcher, the fifth egg appeared in the nest between April 13 and 21. For over a month, Hrytsyk and Odarka took turns incubating it, waiting for the fifth stork chick to hatch. However, this did not happen because the egg exploded.

For more than a month after the explosion, the egg lay in the nest, occasionally moving around its entire perimeter. Two years ago, in the nest of Odarka and Hrytsyk, an egg that did not hatch also remained for a long time. It too exploded on a hot summer day - June 30, 2024, after overheating in the sun

- the researcher emphasized.
