Over the past 2-3 weeks, the situation has worsened in the area of the Antonovsky bridge, which connects Kherson with the Left Bank. However, so far we are not talking about a large crossing of the Dnieper by the enemy. This was announced by the speaker of the Southern Defense Forces Vladislav Voloshin on the air of the telethon, reports UNN.
He noted that the Russians are training in forced operations near the Antonovsky bridge in Kherson, but these are formative actions of small groups of infantry. They also attract river boats of their Dnieper flotilla to these trainings.
"Just as they are currently conducting assault operations in the steppe zone with small groups of infantry, they will try to do about the same in the river zone, the island zone of the Dnieper. Now there are fierce battles for the island of Kruglik. Near the Antonovsky bridge there are also quite convenient places for landing troops and they are trying, probing there is our defense that is near the Antonovsky bridge. Over the past 2-3 weeks, the situation has worsened in this area, because every day we celebrate several military clashes there," Voloshin said.
The speaker noted that the Russians are unlikely to cross the Dnieper with large forces.
"But will they force the Dnieper with large forces? I think not, because the operation to force a water barrier is a rather complex operation that involves a lot of effort and money. We are not talking about a large forcing yet," Voloshin concluded.
