The 39-year-old man who harassed Ukrainians in Kraków on Wednesday turned himself in to the police on Friday. He was detained, and investigative proceedings are ongoing.

In Krakow, Poland, a 39-year-old man who on Wednesday grossly insulted two people of Ukrainian nationality turned himself in at a police station and was detained. This was reported on Saturday by Sergeant Elżbieta Znachowska-Bytnar of the Krakow police press service, quoted by Polsat News, reports UNN.

As the police representative noted, police proceedings are being conducted in connection with an insult on national grounds, for which the Criminal Code provides for up to three years of imprisonment.

According to her, the 39-year-old resident of Krakow turned himself in at a police station on Friday at around 19:00.

He was detained, and police proceedings involving him are ongoing, after which he will be taken to the prosecutor’s office, where he may be charged, the Krakow police representative added.

According to information provided by Krakow police, the incident occurred on August 5 in the area of Polonijna Street, near one of the popular stores.

A video published online shows a man in a blue T-shirt harassing two people of Ukrainian origin. At one point, when he notices that he is being filmed, he begins shouting and rushes after one of the Ukrainian citizens, hurling insults. It can also be seen that he hit a woman.
