Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of a man's suicide in Svitlovodsk, Kirovohrad region. He committed suicide with the service weapon of a patrol officer who arrived at an operational call. This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation, UNN writes.

According to preliminary data, on the night of March 28, 2024, law enforcement officers in Svitlovodsk received a report that a local resident was threatening to commit suicide.
Upon arriving at the scene, the police unit observed the man's inappropriate behavior and called an ambulance. After medical examination, he was to be taken to a psychiatric hospital in the regional center.
However, the citizen snatched the law enforcement officer's assault rifle and shot himself in the head. The man died on the spot from the wound.
Currently, SBI officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident, and criminal proceedings have been opened on the fact of official negligence.
