In Kharkiv, law enforcement officers detained a man who committed a brazen attack on visitors and a female employee of a retail kiosk. As a result of the incident, three people were injured, reports UNN citing the police of Kharkiv region.
Details
The incident occurred on June 20 at around 17:30 in the Kholodnohirskyi district of the city. According to the investigation, a 22-year-old native of Cherkasy broke into a retail kiosk and used a shard of a broken bottle to inflict cut wounds on a man.
After that, the attacker punched the saleswoman in the head, and during his escape, he also kicked an elderly woman who was passing by in the face. All victims are receiving necessary medical assistance.
The perpetrator faces up to seven years in prison
Police officers promptly established the whereabouts of the suspect. Currently, the issue of his detention under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine is being decided.
According to the preliminary classification, the event is being investigated under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism.
The sanction of the article provides for up to seven years of imprisonment. Investigators are continuing priority procedural actions to establish all the circumstances of the attack.
