When celebrating New Year's Eve, it is important to keep safety in mind. You should respond to air raid alarms and avoid using prohibited pyrotechnics.

This is reported by UNN with reference to the recommendations of the SES.

Details

Safety in the kitchen

Do not leave the stove unattended while preparing a festive dinner. If grease catches fire, do not extinguish it with water - cover the pan with a lid.

Towels and napkins should be kept away from the hob to avoid fire.

Also, remember the rule: one outlet, one appliance. Turn off all kitchen appliances before leaving the house.

Safety when decorating the Christmas tree

When decorating the tree, place it away from heaters, fireplaces, and candles. Secure it to prevent it from tipping over.

Use only certified garlands to avoid short circuits.

Do not decorate the Christmas tree with flammable materials.

Moisten the tree regularly to prevent it from drying out and becoming more vulnerable to fire.

Safety on the street

When walking in the winter, dress warmly, wear a scarf, hat, gloves, and shoes with raised soles to avoid hypothermia and injury.

Don't forget to bring hot tea to keep you warm. And, most importantly, do not go out on a frozen body of water unless you are sure of the strength of the ice.

Prohibition on the use of pyrotechnics

Remember that the use and distribution of fireworks, fireworks and firecrackers is prohibited by law. These pyrotechnics can cause fires, injuries and other dangerous situations.

Tell your children about it to avoid unwanted consequences.

Preparing for emergencies

Be careful: always have a fire extinguisher ready and check access to emergency exits in case of an emergency. Respond to air raid warnings and always remember to call the emergency services by dialing 101, 102 or 112 in case of danger.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine also wished everyone a safe holiday season.

Recall

Law enforcement officers will detain and bring to the police stations to clarify the circumstances of people who will be on the streets during the curfew on New Year's Eve.
