Temperature exceeds 40 degrees
Western Europe has been suffering from a powerful heatwave for several days. In France, the hottest day in the history of meteorological observations was recorded for the second consecutive day. In some regions, the air temperature exceeded +40°C.
The head of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change stated that the current heatwave in Europe has turned out to be even stronger than climate models predicted, indicating the intensifying effects of global climate change.
