Border guards detained a Kharkiv resident who had cut his hand trying to overcome the barrier fence to illegally cross the border. They caught up with the offender in the river, provided first aid and drew up a report. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service, according to UNN.
"A 36-year-old Kharkiv resident cut his hand when he tried to overcome the barrier fence. During this attempt, border guards found him. The man ignored the law enforcement officers' request to stop and ran away. He was caught when he was already in the water," the statement said.
Border guards provided first aid to the offender and called an ambulance. A report was subsequently drawn up against the man for attempting to illegally cross the border.
