There have already been 81 engagements on the frontline today, more than a third of which took place in the Pokrovsk sector, where the enemy is concentrating its main efforts, and the enemy has become somewhat more active in the Lyman sector, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a report as of July 9 at 4 p.m., UNN reports.
The number of combat engagements along the entire frontline currently stands at 81. In the border areas of Sumy and of Chernihiv regions, as indicated, the enemy continues to carry out its terrorist attacks with the help of artillery shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation.
From the direction of Belgorod region, the enemy's aviation struck with guided aerial bombs at the territory of Kharkiv region, among the bombed areas were Liptsy, Mali Prokhody, and Hlyboke. At the same time, our soldiers have repelled four occupants' attacks in the areas of Vovchansk, Starytsia and Liptsy, and two more attacks are ongoing.
On the Kupyansk direction, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to storm the positions of our units near Berestove and Pishchane four times.
Today, the enemy became somewhat more active in the Lyman sector. It made 12 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Hrekivka, Nevske, Makiivka and Terny. All engagements ended without success for the enemy.
The enemy continues to look for weaknesses in our defense on the Siversky direction. He conducted three attacks near Verkhnekamianske, Vyymka and Rozdolivka. I received a fierce rebuff. The occupiers' losses are being clarified.
On the Kramatorsk direction, the invaders made three unsuccessful assaults near Chasovyi Yar, Hryhorivka and Andriivka. The enemy supported its offensive actions with attack aircraft, launching strikes with unguided missiles near Chasovyi Yar.
The number of enemy attacks in the Toretsk sector increased to 9. The enemy is attacking near populated areas: Pivnichne, where our defenders repelled 5 attacks (one attack is currently ongoing), Pivdenne and New York, where two attacks were repelled. Fighting is still ongoing in two locations. The aggressor's aviation is actively working, in particular, the settlement of New York was bombed, where the enemy dropped eight CABs, and the occupiers also fired at the area with unguided aerial missiles.
The Pokrovsk sector is the most intense in terms of combat engagements. Since the beginning of the day, the occupants have made 29 attempts to push our defenders from their positions in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Tymofiivka, Karlivka, Kalynove, Yevhenivka, Yasnobrodivka, Progress and Novoselivka Persha. The defense forces are holding back the onslaught and repelled 21 enemy attacks, eight battles are still ongoing. The enemy is concentrating its efforts near Novooleksandrivka and Novoselivka Persha. The latter, along with Oleksandropil, were hit by NARs from attack aircraft. Russian terrorists struck the area of Myrnohrad with anti-aircraft missiles.
Four battles near Neitalove, Kostiantynivka and Paraskoviivka in the Kurakhove sector ended.
A firefight continues in the Vremivsky sector near Vodiane. Five enemy attacks have already been repelled by our units. The defense forces are taking measures to prevent the occupants from advancing deeper into our territory. Russian terrorists used five guided aerial bombs in the area. They also fired from multiple rocket launchers. In particular, near Urozhayne, Rivne and Staromayorske.
Three enemy assaults near Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriyivka were repelled in the Orikhiv sector.
In the Prydniprovsky direction, the occupiers dropped seven submunitions on Tyahyntsi and near it.
