Former MP Oleksandr Ryabeka has died

Yesterday, June 21, Oleksandr Ryabeka, a People's Deputy of Ukraine of the V and VI convocations, passed away. He was a scientist, human rights defender, and participant in the liquidation of the Chornobyl accident.

Former MP and human rights activist Oleksandr Ryabeka has died, the press service of the Verkhovna Rada apparatus reported on Telegram, writes UNN.

It is with sadness that we report that yesterday, June 21, People's Deputy of Ukraine of the V and VI convocations, scientist and human rights activist Oleksandr Ryabeka passed away

In parliament, as indicated, he served as head of the subcommittee on legislative support for anti-corruption policy and control over the observance of citizens' rights of the committee on combating organized crime and corruption. He was a participant in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.

"We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends, colleagues and everyone who knew and respected Oleksandr Ryabeka. Eternal memory," the address reads.
