The Military Law Enforcement Service reported that the former commander of the 155th separate mechanized brigade and all identified participants in the crime have been notified of suspicion in the case regarding the illegal deprivation of liberty and murder of two civilians.

The Military Law Enforcement Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the former commander of the 155th separate mechanized brigade and all currently identified participants in the crime have been notified of suspicion in the case of illegal deprivation of liberty and premeditated murder, writes UNN.

As noted in the VSP of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "on the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Internal Security Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the Main Directorate of the Military Law Enforcement Service, together with the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv region, conducted a large-scale set of operational-search and investigative measures, as a result of which an organized group of persons involved in the illegal deprivation of liberty and premeditated murder of two civilians on the territory of Kyiv region was exposed."

As a result of the measures taken, the former commander of the 155th separate mechanized brigade of the Operational Command "North" of the Ground Forces and all currently identified participants in the crime have been notified of suspicion of committing criminal offenses related to illegal deprivation of liberty and premeditated murder

As noted in the VSP of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, "thanks to high professionalism, effective interagency cooperation and coordinated work of employees of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv region, it was possible to identify all persons involved in the crime in a short time, document their criminal activities, conduct a series of successful detentions in several regions of Ukraine and collect an evidence base."

"Given the high-profile nature of the event and in order to prevent similar incidents, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has strengthened a set of preventive and control measures aimed at preventing violations of military discipline, abuse of official authority and any illegal actions by military personnel," the statement reads.

As noted, "the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasizes the principle of inevitability of punishment regardless of the person's position or military rank."

"Currently, urgent investigative and operational-search measures are ongoing, aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the criminal offense and bringing the perpetrators to justice as provided by law," the statement said.

Earlier, the Operational Command "North" reported on the investigation of events involving military personnel of the 155th separate mechanized brigade, noting that the commander had left service without authorization and is being sought.

This statement appeared after the media reported that law enforcement officers detained several soldiers of the brigade.

According to data on the brigade's website, since February 2026, the commander of the 155th separate mechanized brigade (military unit A5001) named after Anna of Kyiv is Lieutenant Colonel Stanislav Luchanov. Until 2026, he held the position of chief of staff in the 425th separate assault regiment "Skelya".
